Here is some of the work that I've done for Sofia the First. I've had an awesome time. I get to create Backgrounds, Matte Paintings, Look Development, Props. I love the work and the crew is great, so many amazing people that I get to work with.
Here's another Commercial that I worked on. Painted most of the BG's for the inside of the barn. Had fun doing this, and I had a broken ankle at the time also. So being allowed to work from home made it even better of a situation.
McDonald's Commercial - Ferris Had No Friends Around
Heres another project that I got to work on to go with the Game Informer cover. I did all the background buildings... A lot reused from the magazine cover. Another fun project before I started here at Disney.
Really exciting news. Last month I was hired as a background painter at Disney Television Animation on the show Sofia the First. Its a great show and Disneys #1 show. Pretty awesome!! Really enjoying my time here and the art is awesome, love the style and the type of work that is in the show. It will probably be a good year before you can see any of the work that I've been doing.
Yeah the backgrounds are so awesome, they have that feature quality which is right up my alley.
McDonalds just released a book that I did most of the illustrations in. It even has a cool die cut to the book like the goat took a bit out of it. Almost forgot about this project, I did the work almost 20 months ago. Cool little project.
Finally the Smurfs project that I was on for a good 6 months is finally out just in time for Halloween and now I can show the art from it. I love the way the backgrounds look in this short. More graphic and uses a lot of textures, which is different from the traditional way that I work. I was the primary Background painter on this and loved working with everyone from SONY Pictures Animation, especially my Art Director Sean Eckols.
Had such an awesome time on the second Smurfs short that I've been apart of. Look up The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol that came out a couple years back, I was the lead BG painter on that as well.
So I worked at Costco for years - it helped pay for rent, gas, food, school books and all that other nonsense. So for my going away, I wanted to paint a picture for all my co workers and management.
The painting is of one of my favorite moments at Costco. I was on the register years ago and saw this girl struggling to reach over and grab the drink. Once she gave up on going over the top she managed to maneuver the straw through the cart and quench her thirst. So I've had memory burn of this moment ever since. And knew that one day I'd do a painting of it.
So here is the next image in a series of books that I am in with a bunch of other artists in the industy. There are four books in the series so far. The last one was a western on which was my favorite. Plus I've been doing some visdev on the side about the west. So here is is hope you enjoy it.
Really enjoyed doing this one. I think he trying to get it to the printers in time for Comic Con, so we'll see.
Here is a cool set of images that I did. On the recent project I was on for SONY, I learned a lot of things and used elements that I normally never used. It really allowed me to open up and grow. And I love it!! The work looks so good and I am able to do a lot more with my art. Thanks to my Art Director Sean Eckols.
So here is an image that I did as a three in one. It was created as a thank you card for the staff at SONY Animation and Duck Studios and, Second some Visual Development that if been working on and last a background (good thing for layers)
This last project was awesome and I cant wait for you guys to see it.
